A health screening or medical checkup is a series of tests and examinations to check how well the various organs in our body are working. The purpose is to detect hidden health issues before you develop symptoms. It is beneficial for people of all ages and health status, since prevention is the best cure. In case a health condition has developed, early detection often allows for more effective and less costly treatment options.
A typical health checkup involves consultation with a doctor, physical exams, blood test, urine test, stool test, X-ray and other screenings for common high risk diseases such as high cholesterol, diabetes, heart, kidney, liver and lung disease. The scope and frequency of screening depend on your age, overall health, family history, lifestyle habits and other risk factors.
We recommend the Essential Health Screening package for all adults, at least once every 2 years for people under the age of 40 and annually for people aged 40 and above. However, your individual profile and circumstance may require additional tests, such as before you tie the knot or when you develop certain risk factors.
You may also be personally interested to find out your risk of developing cancer through tumour markers or cancer detection test, which is only included in our more comprehensive or specialised packages.
If you are unsure, please feel free to consult the Charazoi team to determine your most suitable health screening package.

Our Onco-Select MCED test detects early signs of cancer from DNA fragments released by cancer cells into the bloodstream, using next-generation sequencing technology. A single blood draw can be used to screen up to 10 cancer types. Results are available 12 to 18 days after the screening.
Different from genetic cancer tests which look for inherited gene mutations that might put a person at higher risk of a cancer type (i.e., genetic mutations or germline mutations), this genomic cancer test screens for random mutations occurring during an individual’s lifetime that are associated with certain cancers (i.e., acquired mutations or somatic mutations). The majority of cancer is caused by somatic mutations.
The 10 cancers that can be screened with Onco-Select MCED Test include:
The test is recommended for individuals with elevated cancer risk such as having family history of cancer, alongside with a regular health screening package and strictly with doctor’s consultation. Early detection can save lives. Early treatment increases the rate of successful treatment.
The test is not recommended for individuals with a personal history of cancer.

Before the Health Screening: You should fast for 10-12 hours, i.e., no breakfast, tea, or coffee on the morning of your appointment. Fasting helps ensure more accurate blood level readings. Instructions and reminders will be sent to you.
During the Health Screening: Your basic vitals will be taken, including height and weight measurement and physical examination by the Doctor. Blood test and other tests will be conducted.
After the Health Screening: After 2-3 days, we will arrange for a post-screening consultation with the Doctor should there be any critical results and follow-up is required.
