Yellow fever vaccine is a virus vaccine to protect against yellow fever which is a mosquito-borne disease found in parts of Africa and South America. It is mandatory for all visitors arriving or transiting through yellow fever risk areas.
It is recommended to be vaccinated at least 10 days before travelling to high-risk areas. The International Certificate is valid 10 days after vaccination and remains valid for the life of the person vaccinated.
Yellow fever vaccine can generally be given with other vaccines, with a few exceptions. Please call us to discuss if you intend to have other vaccinations together with the yellow fever vaccinations.
Typical reactions to the yellow fever vaccine include soreness at the injection site, headache, fever, muscle and joint pains. There are potentially life-threatening reactions though rare such as allergic reaction, involvement of the nervous and gastrointestinal system. Hence the vaccination is not recommended for persons over 60 years old.
Charazoi Medical Clinic offers same-day appointments (subject to availability). You can make an appointment with us via WhatsApp, e-mail, or by calling our clinic directly.
Price of yellow fever vaccine: $240 before GST.
